Handmade Leather Workshop by Radwa Youssef in Darb 1718.

"Have you ever wondered about the natural leather products and how they are done?!!"

Well, it’s a deep and interesting journey full of details, starting from tanning, thinning , drying, coloring, different techniques with different tools , then comes the tailoring of your product and then the finishing.
Last but not least, is getting to know different kinds of leather , its thicknesses , uses and its markets also different kind of accessories used with the products.

You are not alone in this journey, this workshop provides all these information at Darb 1718 with the instructor Radwa Youssef one who started the craft as a hobby-seeker and refused to leave it to that. She delivered the course several times in Darb 1718, El tahrir Lounge and Beit El-Raseef.

(ُ10 sessions, Total hours = 30 hrs ; session duration is 3 hrs twice a week)
The workshop will start on the 8th and 9th of April (friday and saturday) for field trips, from 6 to 9 pm.

The 8 following sessions are going to be every monday and wednesday (from the 11th) from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm

All sessions will be ending on the 4th of may.

Session 1: Field trip to collect tools and visit the Big leather market
session 2: Field trip to Collect your leather and get to know how to secure special leather colors
session 3: make your own tools bag from leather
session 4: protruding and sunken technique and hammering tiny patterns
Session 5 : burning techniques
session 6: stitch pattern technique and fabric inlay application
Session 7: filtré technique
Session 8: swiveling technique
session 9 : different coloring techniques
Session 10 : braiding techniques

All Colors kinds and burning tools are provided for usage during course, other tools and materials will be purchased by participant on field trips.

For ladies you are kindly requested to dress modestly on field trips.
