Pierre de Marivaux’s The Game of Love and Chance is a 1730 French comedyin which two pairs of lovers find themselves thrust in a situation where they undergo the various stages of falling in and out of love. Imaginary social barriers have to be broken before the lovers are able to express their devotion to each other. This production sets the action in the French Riviera during the 1960s.
