Ceramic Painting Workshop
About the workshop
Coloring is a very important technique in the art of ceramics, where using colored oxides and glazes.
In the coloring workshop, participants prepare ready-made ceramic pieces using the Gleeze technique. Participants are trained to process the surface in color and texture.
Participants also learn to use folk and Islamic motifs in drawing on ceramics.
Each participant will make different pieces of shapes and sizes to be painted.
About the instructor, Abdelhakim
Abdelhakim Sayed is the Director of the Foustat Traditional Crafts Centre, Cultural Development Fund, Ministry of Culture. He’s also a member of the Syndicate of Plastic Arts.
Abdelhakim has participated in the Cairo International Ceramic Biennale, as well as the 2nd, 4th and 6th editions of the Youth Salon. He has also participated in establishing the Pottery Village, Old Cairo.
The workshop is held each Saturday and you can attend more than one session.
Dates: Each Saturday Sat 5 - 12 - 19 - 26 October 2019
Time: From 3PM to 5PM
Duration of session: 2 hours
Workshop fees 200 EGP (including materials)
Each participant will get the piece they made during the workshop the week after their session.
