"Forgotten Blocks from Abusir" is the title of the lecture that will be given by Mohamed Ismail Khaled, director of foreign missions at the Ministry of Antiquities.
The limestone causeway of Sahure’s pyramid complex at Abusir is one of the earliest causeways to be decorated. It was carved in low relief and the images then painted. The images depict a variety of activities that range from the bringing of offerings, celebrating the construction of the pyramid, archery, and other activities. This lecture focuses on reconstructing the decorative program of the causeway, unifying blocks that were excavated at different times in history.
