GARDEN II

December 14th 2013 the second Graduate Annual Research Discussions on Egypt and Nubia (GARDEN) meeting will be held at the German Archaeological Institute in Cairo (DAIK), jointly organised with the Netherlands-Flemish Institute in Cairo (NVIC) and the American University in Cairo (AUC). Meant for MA students and starting PhD students of all nationalities, the focus of the workshop will be on research methodology (including the organisation of research, working in Egypt and related topics). The research is shortly presented (max. 15 minutes) with ample time for discussion to provide a platform for students to present their study and research to one another.

We invite MA and starting PhD students in all fields of Archaeology and/or Egyptology as well as from other humanities linked to Egypt and Nubia like Coptic/Islamic/Sudan Studies and other sciences like Architecture/Building Archaeology/Hertiage Management and Conservation to submit their abstract (max. 1000 characters including spaces) and affiliation interested in presenting a paper to garden.cairo.2013@gmail.com latest until November 24th.

Registration is not needed for attendees though we would appreciate it to estimate attendance as seats are limited.
